With another BIG win, this time in Mississippi (m-i-ss-i-ss-i-pp-i) Obama have moved that much further ahead of Hillary. Too bad this race has not been decided yet...PA here we come!

Fun Filled Saturday!
Saturday was quite the day! The morning started out EARLY at the Denver County Convention where I once again cast my vote for BARACK Obama (spelled Barak) in the mailing from the Denver Dems...impressive! Only to be one upped by Hillary's name being spelled incorrectly on the actual ballots! We sat by house district and it was chaos as each person had to file through and cast their ballot, but overall at the end of the day Obama is on top and it is worth it! I did have to leave early so I was not able to stay around to run to be a state delegate which is a bummer but I know he will be well represented!
After the presidential and senate votes we snuck out and headed home. Then Sam, David, and I headed to the land o love to celebrate mom's birthday (a few days early). Jim, Tammy, and Landon came over as well. We spent much of the nigth playing Wii and I will have to admit my arm was quite sore, but I sure can rock Wii bowling!! :)
Mom blowing out her candles (like she bowls!!) Too bad we couldn't fit 54 on there!! Ha!

St. Patty's BUNCO
I have now vowed to take more Bunco pics as it is one of my monthly activities and have not really had many on here! This month I hosted and we had a St. Patty's theme...as you will see!
some GREEN beer (Emily got a little carried away with the green dye!)

Clare very excited about her Bunco!
Bunco BreaEmily and Clare with the green beer Emily made...my favorite part of this pic is that Emily looks about 2 feet shorter than Clare!
Cheers!
both of my sister's play Bunco with me now which is super fun!

Brooke had the last Bunco AND most wins...so it was a big night for her as she has not won in over a YEAR! Last Bunco prize- Lucky Charms and Pot of Gold lotto tickets

Baracking Wyoming
Headed up to Wyoming this weekend to rally up some caucus goers for their caucus this Saturday March, 8th. Brea and I will now be rocking our Wyoming for Obama shirts to the Denver County Convention this weekend...fun times, fun times. Here are a few pics of the Wyoming trip but in a nutshell: we hopped in the car early Saturday, hit two Cheyenne hot spots, Taco Johns or as we say Juans,

Here we are in the drive through at Taco Juans...Fired Up...Ready to Go!!
and then a quick stop at Eileen's Cookies:

Brea had asked for a cookie that said Obama '08...and if you squint really hard and look in the upper 1/100th of the cookie you'll see it...not to be outdone however by the USA filling the entire bottom of the cookie!! HA! Pretty sure they had not even hear of Obama in this cookie shop!Anway...on with the story!
We then hit the Cheyenne office. They were AMAZINGLY organized which was awesome, so we grabbed our flyers, clipboards and hit the road. The first neighborhood we hit had 99 people in it we were to talk to...and I'd say the average age was about 85 so not a lot of caucus goers, but we had some good talks with people.

Here is Brooke hitting up a door along the way.
We also ran into our first blantantly racist folks as well so that is always a fun time. We were speechless! We had a checkbox on our sheets IA for inaccessible which we changed to Ignorant American!

Here I am in the car with all of the Obama schhhhwaaaaaag we were handing out.
Once done with the first neighborhood we went back by the Wyoming office to get a new neighborhood and hit up as many as we could prior to dinner time. We then went out to celebrate a good day with some fellow Denver Obama peeps with some margaritas. This establishment was amazing as well. Apart from the pitchers of margaritas the artwork was well...INTERESTING!

Here is a pic of my favorite piece of artwork...wish you could tell in the picture that those are REAL pieces of bark on the picture! HA! Nothing says Mexican food like flamingos in the forest!
After drinks/snacks we were off to Brea's friend's place where I must say we were well taken care of. We hit a few more Cheytown hot spots and then hit the sack. And then came the wind...I was worried Brooke and I were going to get blown away the wind was so strong. We awoke the next morning to a whole lot of wind and snow...a little different than the 68 degree weather of the day before. So to avoid possibly being stranded in Wyoming we had to hit the road early...and returned to Denver.
We hope our travels at least get some more folks out to the caucus on Saturday...go Wyoming!!

Miss Amanda Jones Visits Denver
My co-worker Mandy came to visit so I showed her the Denver sites (had to prove there was more to Denver than the horrible statues...of which I saw the Bronco at night last night and it is SCARY!!)
Our lunch "hour" during our first day working from home...my favorite is that you can see Mandy taking the pic in the glass...
Then we had a little Blackjack school from Sam in preparation for Vegas
And finally we headed to Colorado's best asset...the mountains!

It is always great to have visitors come! Sam is super sad to still not be able to hit the slopes, but we come back to the condo to entertain him at night!

What were they thinking???!!!!
As I dropped my friend Jen off at the airport last week we noticed a giant, what we assumed to be horse, on the side of the road being installed...well folks as I went back yesterday to pick up my co-worker Mandy you wouldn't believe my shock at what was under the wrapping I had seen the week before. It nearly made me run off the road I coudln't believe how hideous it was!! DIA has decided they need a BRIGHT blue mustang with GLOWING red eyes to greet all of our visitors. I do see some small children in the near future bursting into tears upon arrival (or departure as they placed it just so you get the lovely view twice) to our airport. Wow...is about all I can say. I have included a few stories below as well as a comment posted on a local discussion board, seems we are all in agreement!
checking the demonic eyes to make sure they will successfully glow red!
when looking at this you think they would have just stopped there!
and here it is in its full glory...granted you can't get the FULL effect of the red eyes in this pic...I think a trip to the airport at night for some photography is in my future!! http://cw2.trb.com/news/kwgn-dia-mustang-statue,0,6710058.story
Denver does not have one good piece of sculpture on municipal property, anywhere, period.Hate to sound like the old art type douche-bag but Denver has no taste in art and has no business picking any out, especially for what they're paying.Municipal area sculptures say something about a city,Denver's says were a bunch of hillbillies with no taste and a ton of money to validate our ignorance. That horse at DIA is an effing nightmare!Red eyes?Really? Are we trying to scare the hell out of our visitors? Is that really the first thing we want people to see?WELCOME TO DENVER,NOW I'M GOING TO EAT YOUR SOUL!Stick men at the arts center, bears looking into windows?,or that cubism JUNK at Alameda & Monaco.DIA's already cursed, the city just put a face on that curse.Next time you want to buy art Denver, call me,I'm sure you'd consider my consulting fee reasonable.By your standards I'm certainly qualified.

Mardi Gras Bunco!!
BUNCO!!
I don't think I write enough about this group! I am in a monthly Bunco group with a very fun group of gals from college, their friends, my sisters, etc. We have been going strong for a year now. Each month we rotate hosts and the host is in charge of a theme. This month Julie hosted and went with a Mardi Gras theme. She made some great Gumbo (which apparently is quite the process) and we enjoyed some other southern cookin'.

SUPER DUPER TUESDAY!!!
Well for one of the craziest nights of my life at least it was a huge success in bringing a BIG win for Obama in Colorado! He won Colorado with more than double what Clinton had...which makes all of the hard hard work here in Colorado worth it.
Check out Brea's blog for an idea of the caucus process as it was about the same in EVERY location!!Wednesday, February 6, 2008
Girl's Night Out
Girl's Only
Friday night we got a group of girls together for happy hour and then the play Girl's Only. It was HILARIOUS!! We were laughing so hard the entire time as they have really nailed so many things that are so funny about being a girl. They read from junior high diaries, did a dance to putting on pantyhose, had an impromptu shower for someone in the audience, did a Kotex Craft Corner...which is just what you think it would be, and many other very funny skits! It's always good to have some time with the gals!Friday, February 1, 2008
Officially on my way to CHICAGO!!
Precinct Partaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy
Stapleton Precinct Party...take 2
Earlier this week we had one party planned...for Wednesday night. We passed out fliers to neighbors, talked to neighbors, etc. and then...we get a call from Obama headquarters letting us know that they would like to do a party on Thursday as well so Senator Gary Hart can come. So instead of re-contact all that had the info for Wednesday we sucked it up and partied twice! It was great to hear what Gary had to say and why he is supporting Obama.
