R.I.P- GREEN MONSTER

We FINALLY got rid of the Green Monster...wooo hoooo!! While the monster served as a great moving vehicle last year on the journey from California to Colorado (other than overheating in Las Vegas in the 100+ degree heat) it has quickly become the bain of our existence and has now had as much put into it as we paid for it...so there were few tears shed as we traded it in this past weekend for our new car...post to come (still working on a name for it!)

BANDWAGON

I laughed outloud when passing the capitol building the other day...the whole state is now officially on the Rockies bandwagon! Don't get me wrong I am all for baseball fans and those that appreciate the game. However we tend to live in a state that only recognizes football as a true sport and has rarely paid any attention to this team and now all of a sudden there are Rockies fans everywhere! The stadium averaged around 25k attendance for the entire season right up until the last month...where were all of these fans all year?! Anyway...made me laugh!
And right around the corner from the capitol is the First Baptist Church whose claim to fame is the largest pipe organ in Colorado! Ha! That'll bring in the crowds!

Packers/Bears EXPERIENCE!

Well we ventured out of Denver to have this experience!! We hit Rocky Flats Lounge, across from what used to be Rocky Flats nuclear power plant, to give you an idea of location. It was hilarious, and the best place we could have watched this game!

And the room of modified cheese heads, a construction cap, a sombrero, and you can't see the rest! No true cheese heads...I was bummed!
And the loyal fans, apparently if you are to be a true fan this is what must be done.

Step 1- Find an old Packers shirt/sweatshirt

Step 2- cut it off really short on the bottom

Step 3- get rid of those sleeves...who wants sleeves anyways!

Step 4- drink lots of beer and sing/chant LOUDLY!

I'm sure we'll be back...possibly for the fish fry!

Kala's Birthday Cupcakes!

I just started with a mentoring group here in Denver called Friends For Youth and was finally set up with my metee...yay! Her name is Kala and she is a freshman in high school. We have already had a lot of fun together and this past week got to celebrate her birthday by making some cupcakes for her to take to friends at school.

She loves bright colors so we went all out with the frosting!

Nashville

I just had to go to Nashville for work where we met with AOII and Chi Psi and our DG chapter at Vanderbilt. We were able to tour the campus while there and it was beautiful.

There are a few bridges that separate the different campuses.


HOME OF COUNTRY MUSIC

Those of you that know me well know I LOVE country music, so what do you do when in Nashville the home of country music? You visit the Grand Ole Opry!

HARVEST WINE PARTY

We had our first wine party at our new place. We set up different stations throughout the kitchen and living room. Appetizers and red wine were on the island in the kitchen. People went all out we had pumpkin dip, stuffed mushrooms, seitan wings...mmmm...

We had a great time at the wine party...always so fun to have friends over. If you couldn't make it to this one, there will for sure be others!

My Birthday Week...

Sam always laughs because I have my "birthday month" then my "birthday week" then of course my birthday...however this year it truly was a birthday week!!

My Actual Birthday the big 2-9!

On my actual birthday I worked, then Sam and I went out for sushi (my favorite) then I had my group with the gals. Brittni made these awesome brownies for me!

Bowling Night

Sam won a free bowling party for 16 when we went bowling with his work, so we decided to use the party for my birthday celebration. Check out Bri's form!!! My uncle David and his wicked curve ball...only rivaled on our lane by Dan.

Sam...before the guys decided to bowl for speed. Fudge came out ahead with the fastest bowl, Joel Cornell won technique for a strike thrown between his legs, and I was able to pull out slowest ball with 1.07 mph down the lane...as compared to Fudge's fastest at 28 something! :)

Oktoberfest/Camping Weekend

OKTOBERFEST in BRECKENRIDGE

This past weekend we stopped by the Oktoberfest in Breckenridge with some friends.

CAMPING

The main purpose of our trip was to finally get a good camping weekend in since camping weather is almost over!
