First trip to the ZOO

Our zoo does free days every once in a while, so we had Sam meet us at the zoo right after work for a bit. Sam has been talking about taking Cohen to the zoo since before he was born, so it was fun to finally get to go. It was a gorgeous fall day!

check out the CHEEKS!!!

probably don't find the mountain goats at most zoos

Newborn photos

My friend Christine who took the amazing photos in the hospital came and did a professional shoot at our place when Cohen was just over a week old. We got the photos last week and I thought I should share them since they are GREAT! (Any of you in the Denver area should for sure get photos done with her!!)

Let the savings begin!

Our friends Matt and Bryan gave Cohen his very first piggy bank. I can picture now the days of sweaty little palms of change being dumped into there...for now it is good his little palms are not dumping any money in there as they often smell a LOT like milk and that would make for one bad smelling piggy bank! Then, once he has filled up the bank we can take a trip to the bank where my friend Natae works and deposit it!

OVER stimulated...

Two things Cohen LOVES are things that are lit up (tv, computer, lamps, lights and even staring out the window) and his mobile on his crib. These both get him very excited...but can also wear him out to the point of exhaustion as well because he gets too excited.

This is Cohen watching Sam's favorite surf video, Shelter, with him

and his mobile...watch his arms shake and his legs kick like crazy!

Staying warm brings sound sleep!

It is starting to really cool down here which means we broke out the mittens. The best part about the mittens is that he leaves his little fists balled up inside of them, he hasn't quite realized that he can stretch his hands out in there! Cohen also doesn't really love the bigger hat at this point, he will have to learn to like it, but for now we let him slide with the lighter hat and mittens. We we out for a walk with Brooke and Hudson and Cohen fell asleep on the way home. He was so tired that I didn't want to wake him up so I set him on the table while I was doing dishes. I looked over a few minutes later and this is what I saw...
it made me laugh, and being the nice mom that I am, instead of adjusting the hat I got out my camera and took some photos.
This is a few minutes later...
and finally...lights out!

more photos with mom...

Once again my little guy has been subjected to "photoshoot" time with mommy!
This time I was able to capture some better smile photos...and some cute serious ones.
