Father's Day Away

We headed up to Estes Park for Father's Day as a fun surprise for Sam.
 we did some fishing

and hung out at the little hotel we stayed at
and walked RIGHT by this guy before any of us noticed!

The other part of the weekend was going to be the Estes Half Marathon but I hurt my foot at work so I couldn't run it, but Cohen still ran the kids race (which you can see in the next blog post). It was a fun weekend to celebrate father's day!

fun at the town center

Cohen had fun testing out the giant hampster ball at our town center, he's so little he had a hard time getting it to roll.

Father's Day prep

Cohen helped me prepare the letters for our fun father's day gift
 he loves to paint

and really did a great job
for some reason when you say serious face this is what you get...not sure where he got the idea this was his serious face?!
letters painted and drying
here are the 3 we chose for the frame

griffin and grace came over to make one for josh as well
the boys had fun being silly together
and here are a few of the outtakes...could have made another great frame with these! maybe next year i will get a 6 opening frame and do good ones on top and these types on the bottom

we are ready for one fun father's day gift for daddy's office!

9 years...WOW!

It is crazy to think that the pictures below are from 9 years ago, then you think about all that has happened in 9 years and it seems so short. We are lucky to have traveled all over, lived in 3 great states and had one amazing little boy. It's been a great 9 years and we look forward to the next years of our journey together.

we met for a date lunch at Civic Center Eats (the downtown food trucks)

we then had a fun night out to celebrate

34 months with frog guy

34 months and really such a little boy now!

Cohen still loves trains and all things that go.
His imagination has come out in full force and it is so fun to see him making up games and pretend play. It really seemed to develop overnight and he is quite creative.
Cohen loves date nights and boy's night out which come with frozen yogurt and pizza respectively.
Cohen is in a new class at school with Miss Luise, he misses Miss Alison, Miss Heather and Miss Mary tremendously but still gets to have breakfast with them in the mornings. He enjoys splash day and of course his time with coachkyle as well.

He is one sweet little boy often giving hugs and kisses, we sure are lucky.

Summer Time...Pool Time!

We made it back early enough for a fun night at the pool with friends, it is going to be a GREAT summer!

Steamboat Final Day

We spent a final morning in Steamboat before heading back to Denver.
Cohen had some cereal and watermelon for breakfast (the kid is afterall half watermelon based on how much of it I ate when pregnant with him)
then he decided he wanted to drive grandpa's car, thank goodness the real thing is years away
we stopped at the visitor center on the way out, it sure was a great weekend away!

Steamboat Day 2

The reason for choosing this weekend in Steamboat was to run the Steamboat half marathon, so we all pulled ourselves out of bed and headed to an early morning race start.
 Cohen had some crazy hair
that he thought was so silly!
 a view of the race
a picture at about mile 10, it was HOT HOT HOT already

I always tell Sam this is how I can walk so fast, the arm swing, so we have joked about it for years which means he needed a pic of this sign.
the race finished right in town and Cohen was ready on his bike to ride to the finish with me

my friend Clare ran the race too, it was so great to see her and catch up
we sure miss our friend Clare and her being in dental school right by our house

we headed back to the lake and our cabin from town to do some fishing
Cohen finally got to put his new little fishing pole to use
uncle Scottie doing some fishing too
 Cohen helped grandpa too

we then took the boat out to try some fishing on the lake
Cohen was pretty excited about going in the boat
and waved at everyone on shore the whole time
some amazing views from the lake

Cohen and his stage, from which we had many many performances of "I've been working on the railroad"
Hans Peak, with an old firetower on top
 our cabin
and some fun shots of my little explorer

grandma got roped into singing as well

 food back at camp
 including some watermelon

 and one amazing sunset!
