Steamboat Take 2

Sam was out of town for work so we decided to take advantage of a last great fall weekend and celebrate grandpa's birthday in style by heading back to Steamboat for some fishing/hiking/hanging out...

 Cohen loved going out in the boat, he went for a ride with everyone while I went on one REALLY long and hot run!

 uncle David gave Cohen tongue tattoos for his birthday so we all tested them out

 somehow I deleted my own photo

 we went for an awesome hike

 with lots of pretty leaves

 every once in a while Cohen would just sit down and needed some snacks

 then he'd hop up and take off again

 at the very top he went up on uncle David's shoulders

 tired after a long hike, he did a LOT of it all by himself

5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY



It has been 5 years since I started this blog with a little help from my friend Jen. It has been fun to keep track of all that has happened in these 5 years and to keep family and friends near and far up to date on the Troge happenings. While it may not always be up to date, it still serves as a fun reminder of special times and events. I will do my best in these next 5 years to keep it as up to date as possible.

Rapids or the "Rabbits"

My friend Kaysey has season tickets for the Rapids and invited Cohen and I along and we even got to bring some friends!

 And then came the traumatic turn of events...the Rapids scored and they shoot off fireworks and one loud blast...

 and that was it for Cohen, he could not recover. Poor little guy was so sad. But then in the car on the way home he and Isaac were talking all about the game and watching the "Rabbits" play soccer since apparently that is what they heard instead of Rapids.

Cohen and I make smoothies for our breakfast many summer mornings. He now likes to lick the spoon and eat any leftover peanut butter, in LARGE spoonfulls!

Cohen loves to do art projects so we decided to do some fun fall paintings

 we picked out some great fall colors

 and did lots of painting

then stopped and had some salad for dinner, Cohen's new favorite

park to park 10 miler

My co-worker Kaysey had never run more than 5 miles before so we signed up to do the labor day park to park 10 mile race

 she was pretty excited to finish it off, she rocked it

 10 miles down

we followed the beef/turkey jerky guys for the whole run so as they fell off I collected them, I now have quite the stash for ski season!

celebrating grandpa's birthday

We went from the mountains to grandpa's house to celebrate his birthday, and what says happy birthday grandpa more than a ride on the park train?! Cohen loves riding with grandpa (who is a great sport and crams into the little caboose every time!)

Our neighbors offered to let us go up to their house in the mountains and it was AMAZING!

 Cohen loved the morning sun and watching the birds eat from the bird feeders

 my boys and their silly morning hair!

zoo time

We have learned that if you go to the zoo early on Saturday you can watch them clean out the bear area then feed the bears.

 this saturday we got there a little early, so we explored around the bears and found a bunny

 the black bears were already out and lounging, so silly

 they finally let the other bears out and they went to look for all of the treats in their area, some fun popcorn like bits

 and some other treats but their favorite was the...

 peanut butter!
