Finishing Touches...

Baby is home, time to finish his room!
all Sam had left was putting the hinges on his toybox but in the process we learned two important things...
1. Cohen love LOUD music especially Beyonce
2. Cohen loves the vacuum
So we have 2 new methods to put him asleep if needed!!

Week 2 in Review

Well another week has gone by and Cohen is already 2 weeks old...here is what happened last week.
we had to say bye to auntie Lin who had to go back to Texas...BOOO
Cohen met Josh and Helen
and Jesse and Sparrow
He met his new friend Hudson while out for his first Red Sox game at our local Red Sox bar...we are hoping he will forget the game as we just watched Beckett get ROCKED by the Yankees...not a great first game!
He took some naps with daddy...MANY MANY naps with daddy!
He had his first little sponge/washcloth bath (waiting on the cord to come off for a REAL bath!)
He and mommy spent a LOT of time in this chair eating/feeding...but we love hanging out, especially when he curls up like this. I need to enjoy the cuddle time while it lasts!!

Our little HOUDINI!!

Well...we have a child that HATES to be swaddled. He is two weeks old and DONE with being swaddled.
If you look closely in this picture you will see in the upper right hand corner it looks like his shoulder sticking out...that would instead be his hand that he worked the last hour to free and get to the top of his swaddle.

Although this video is hard to see...you can hear the hard grunting and groaning that goes into working out of the swaddle...thus keeping him awake for that much longer. You would then in turn think if we swaddled him with his little hands up he would be happy...nope they must be FREE from the swaddle.

It does not even have to be an official swaddle...it can simply be wrapping a blanket around him tightly while in the swing...the above picture is the final grunt that freed his little hand and the satisfaction of it shooting out of the blanket into the air.

Then the see mom I got it free...look at me...Then sleep...he just loves that little hand by his face!

Cohen and Mr. Bunny

My parents can attest to the fact that I have always been very creative in the naming of my stuffed animals...so when Sam gave me this stuffed bunny a few years ago it was fitting that his name be Mr. Bunny. So this was Mr. Bunny and Cohen hanging out...thought there were some cute pictures of the little guy in the mix.

You know your'e a new mother when...

1. Witch Hazel + Pad + Freezer = HEAVEN!! (if you don't understand...you probably don't want to!!)

2. A Sitz Bath is something you actually own...and you understand the smile on the lady's face on the box...

3. Everything is now measured in ounces...the baby...the breastmilk...etc.

4. You keep count of numbers of times your kid poops and pees in a day!

5. Betsy, the lactation consultant, is my new BFF

6. I have the cleanest kitchen EVER because that is where the swing is located and one of the daily naps usually takes place.

7. I have been nailed by a peeing boy...so much so that it was dripping from my hair!

8. A shower now seems like a luxury!

9. My diaper bag is packed with everything I could possibly need...I am sure I will quickly learn to weed things out and not carry so much!

10. And...you'll find enough random parenting books...baby books...advice books laying around the room to fill a small library.

First solo day...

Sam went back to work on Wednesday the 19th so it was mine and Cohen's first day alone...
Cohen woke up just in time to say goodbye
daddy did NOT want to leave!
Cohen didn't want him to leave either!
We did try something new...the swing...he is still SO tiny!He seemed to really like it so I think we'll have many more swing days and a VERY clean kitchen since that is where the swing is located! When Sam got home he said it was family nap time...somehow he ended up being the only one napping. :)
