Zoo Day

We had a great day at the zoo. Train is still not working so we took on the carousel instead.

The fun part of this zoo visit was watching the hippo get his snack..

which he ate right in front of us!

PoohSticks

Cohen and I took to the trails and went for an adventure by our house.

I felt like I was in the middle of a Poohsticks race!

Cohen probably threw over 50 sticks and was just as excited each and EVERY time!

Family Date Night

Cohen had a really good day at school so we decided to go out for a family date night.

here he is enjoying his mac and cheese

and working on his name (which requires you putting your face really close to the paper) he has down C-O-H- then goes astray from there when he spells outloud

and apparently he's picking up the check, BONUS!

St. Patty's Celebration

We celebrated St. Patty's Day the day after with all of the kiddos.

Cohen was not feeling great (come to find out the poor little guy had double ear infections!)

We had all kinds of green foods (apples, grapes, applesauce, and green gatorade) Griffin is enjoying his applesauce

and Grace is taking down some grapes

we celebrated the big 3-0 again with Sparrow

and then attempted the standard child holiday picture

Happy 5th birthday Lincoln

Our friend Lincoln turned 5. Cohen was not feeling well but did not want to miss the party. He did a gymnastics party that was very fun.

Sparrow is THIRTY

Our friend Sparrow is a St. Patty's baby so what better than St. Patty's to celebrate her 30th! We all got together for dinner and a happy hour to celebrate.

31 months with frog guy

Another month and a bigger boy. He really is starting to look like a big boy.

He is fully potty trained and makes it through the nights in undies as well so we are excited to be completely diaper free!

He still loves trains more than anything else he plays with.

He is now one of the oldest in his class and helps teachers out, even letting them know when they forget to do something.

He is one great little boy!

Cohen really wanted a birdhouse one day when we were at Michaels. With the weather warming up we decided it was finally time to paint it.

Radiohead

Sam has been waiting...well his lifetime...to see Radiohead and they FINALLY came back to Denver after skipping over Denver so many times in the past. The ticket getting process was pretty stressful, but we were lucky enough to get through and get tickets. It was a great show.

Cohen has been waiting a while for some shoes he got from grandma and grandpa to fit so we often try them on and say "no, not yet but they will fit soon..."

Well today...THEY FIT! Cohen was so excited to wear them.

Cohen plays soccer on the weekends at our local indoor place, it is pretty funny to watch as they try to keep all little ones involved.

Haircut time

Cohen finally went for a much needed haircut

Potty Time

Every once in a while Cohen has to quickly hop out of the tub during bath time to go potty...here is one of those times. He will love this one when he is older, I will now file it away in my "to embarass Cohen when older" file.

Bringing the bike back out

Cohen started to learn to ride a strider bike last year but was still pretty small, so we were excited to pull it out this year and see what he could do.

He is really starting to get the idea of pushing along, now he needs to work on coasting and then he is that much closer to a real bike!

New Orleans Half Marathon

Jill took most of our pics for the weekend but I can't get them to download to my computer so you will have to see the weekend through my few photos. Jill and I had two free Rock 'N Roll half marathon entries so we decided to pick some fun races to meet up for this year. We picked New Orleans and Providence. This was the first...

we flew in early Friday which was great because we were able to relax, grab a few electric $.25 martinis and get some yummy food

we then hit up the marathon expo

then ate some more food

and hit up CVS for some band aids...but were quite impressed with the liquor selection in the CVS right off of Bourbon Street

We couldn't miss a walk through Bourbon Street so Jill grabbed a beer and we wandered checking it all out, quite entertaining I must say!

we kicked off Saturday with some beignets from Cafe du Monde

then after some walking we stopped off at our next food option

Now the picture we are truly missing here is our dinner...Jill and I decided we should take it easy since we'd been on our feet pretty much since we landed so we lounged in the hotel room, watched a movie, and ordered some food...well a LOT of food...it was WONDERFUL.

So come race day the two of us easily had 3 days worth of heavy NOLA food in us, but why not?! Here is the pic I sent to Cohen before the race.

then finished it off with a muffaletta in the sun (which can also be dangerous as Jill learned getting pooped on by a bird!)

We had a wonderful girl's weekend away, it was a great race (even if I ran a total of probably 13 miles training for it) and a fun city to hang out in. See you in Providence JILLY!

New phone, new photos

I lost/had my phone stolen at Home Depot so had to replace it. The worst part was all of the pics and contacts I had on the phone were no longer so I had to start over. These were the first two pics with the new phone.

Where is Cohen?!

Cohen loves Where's Waldo books and also loves playing hide and seek. I would say he is a little easier to find than Waldo, but he thinks he is totally hidden which is the best part!

We had a cat named Zia growing up that would "hide" under the bed which was really her sticking her head under the dust ruffle and thinking she was totally hidden, this hiding position made me think of that and laugh.

President's Day

We got a last minute condo deal from a neighborhood mom and decided to head to the mountains for President's Day.

Cohen now travels with his travel train set so he can have trains with him at all times. It went with us for Christmas, and I am sure will go with us most places at least for the near future.

we decided to take advantage of some free entertainment and took the kiddos for a ride on the gondola at Breck, which they thought was pretty great

after some dinner we headed over to our sleigh ride...here we are getting ready

Cohen sat up front and helped steer for a bit

the sleigh ride goes right up the ski hill which makes for amazing views

and the whole crew at the end, it was a perfect length just under an hour

and a final goodbye to our horse

and one little boy sound asleep for the ride home, we did remove his jacket before heading all of the way down or we may have just had a little puddle in the back by the time we made it back down to Denver...quite a weekend.

Another month, another frog pic, this time with a bonus frog

just a little hair!!

Cohen likes the movies Surf's Up and Happy Feet, he loves the music and loves to dance along with the penguins.

Cohen loves yogurt and his new favorite are the tube yogurts that he can squeeze out himself.

We get equal number of snuggles and I can do it by myselfs so we are for sure in full 2 year old mode.

Cohen does soccer on the weekends and can't wait for the return of coachkyle when the snow is all gone and it warms up a bit.
