Memorial Day

We kicked off Memorial Day with the Bolder Boulder

now that Brooke is officially a runner she was ready to run this year...Sparrow told us on the way to the race she was pregnant...hooray...so she would need to take it easy
Sparrow stayed with us for the first 3 1/2 or so miles and then needed to take it a little slower to not overheat...you can see Brooke and me on the FAR right crossing the blue pad (my pink shirt helps)

and here we are after just crossing the finish line

Sparrow actually finished not too far behind us even having to take it a little slow! It is a great race to do...I think this was my 7th or 8th time doing it.

we got together with friends later that day and Jesse and Sparrow shared their news with the rest...here are the boys toasting

and the girls

we then went back and had some of Bri's fancy dessert...mmmmm

Messy play date

We borrowed the Fudges truck to run and pick up a new headboard and when returning it we had some play time with Griffin at the park down the street from their house.

Cohen and Griffin hopped right in the sand/water
Cohen's pants got so heavy that they kept just falling down on their own...notice mom is too busy taking photos and laughing to pull the poor kid's pants up!

since they were covered in sand we did a bath which they thought was so funny to do together...tons of splashing and laughing!

then the boys had some lunch together...mmmmm mac and cheese!

less than 24 hours in CA!

I was in California for less than 24 hours for work, but was able to spend the night with my brother who was out in LA for the summer working as an intern for a production company on the Paramount lot. We met up in Santa Monica...

some people say we look alike...I just don't see it! :) Haaaaaaa

made the dude hit the photo booths on the pier with me...in case you did not already know this I LOVE photo booths...proof here....and here...and you get the idea

one more photo booth shot...not too many great backgrounds to choose from on this one

the pier at night

this shot is for my little one back home...tractors on the BEACH...and also a good shot of the boardwalk that I did ALL of my first marathon training on...many many many miles logged along here and one sighting of Val Kilmer among those miles as well!

the pier during the day...I can't even tell you how many movies and tv shows I've seen this pier in

and another pic for the little man at home who LOVES trash trucks

a photo for a friend of mine...you know who you are! :)

and the Hellands (Sparrow is on the phone just leaving work to join us)

it was quite the stage

pre-show

and she made it! The Hellands in full!

there were some amazing outfits

and dance moves!

it was quite a SHOW!

and VERY loud, but definitely fun to have seen them

Zoo Day

We had a fun morning at the zoo with the Fudge kiddos too...sorry Grace you slept the whole time so we don't have pictures of you!

and in Cohen's mind...the BEST part of the zoo

Colfax Half Marathon

My friend Brooke convinced me to do the Colfax Half Marathon for her first half with her...training went pretty well but is kind of tough at the end of the winter...however it did prepare us for race day's lovely weather!

yes, that is 42 degrees and rain at start time
we put some trash bags on for the walk to City Park from Brooke's house...to stay dry and to keep us warm

a few shots from along the route

Brooke on the course

Jim snapped some photos of us along the way as well

nearing the end!!

way to go Brooke on your 1st half...hopefully there will be many more for us in the future

after the run the boys hopped in Hudson's bike carrier and we headed out for some breakfast and to warm up!!
