Cohen's scrapbook weekend

I get together with my mom, my aunt, my sister and some other friends to scrapbook for a weekend every 4 months or so. We used to go up to the mountains but have started doing it at my parent's place instead which has made it easy for Sam and Cohen to come along as well. Cohen gets absolutely NO attention while we are there...as you can see!

he still thinks cups are the MOST amazing thing!
We lined up some chairs to block him into the living room instead of coming over in the room with all of the scrapbook stuff. So he would pull himself up on the chairs and talk to us through them.

X is for xylophone

any kid that reads or hears any alphabet books should know the word xylophone since it seems to be the only word used for the letter x...so why not get cohen one so he at least knows what it is...

here's the CRAWLING!

Cohen started crawling...it takes lot of little movements to go a little bit...but at least he is now going forward! I am happy to see that he still incorporates his rolling skill to get where he wants to go (which is usually to daddy's plants or the fish)

8 months old!!!

I feel like I JUST put up Cohen's 7 month picture and here I am posting his 8 month picture!
Big things this month:
* tried fruits for the first time, but my crazy kiddo prefers veggies
* learned to roll and roll and roll to get where he wants to go
* first Easter
* has been working on lots of new sounds
* LOTS of yelling to hear himself
* loves cups, especially the ones someone else is holding
and the biggest one that started the day before 8 months
HE IS CRAWLING!!
I'll post some videos of the crawling soon...meanwhile we need to start baby proofing our plants and other low lying objects! :)

1/2 Marathon and Relay

Sunday I ran my first post Cohen race. My friend Brittni and I ran the full half marathon and had other friends join us doing the relay of the race.
Laura and Clare did leg 1

Nicky and Brea did leg 2
then Bri and Brooke with leg 3
the FINAL stretch!
The last .1 is always tough...not quite as bad as the last .2 of a marathon but it sure felt like it on Sunday!
The whole crew
And now since I didn't get into the New York marathon it is time to decide what fall marathon to do...I am down to a short list at this point so I'll keep you posted!

Cohen's 1st Easter

After the egg scramble on Saturday we drove up to Loveland for Easter
uncle Scott brought this onesie back for Cohen from Germany when he went over Christmas...it is the guy on all of the walk lights.
Cohen just woke up from a nap so it was tough to get smiles...but he still showes off his shirt
and did some talking with uncle Scott
grandma Troge sent this cute little bib for Cohen
after church we went for a swing at the little park by grandma and grandpa's house
check out those cheeks!!!
then auntie Lin came...Cohen loves to stare at mouths
but auntie Lin's mouth he is staring INTO...
because he can see the shiny ball on her tongue!
hanging with auntie Lin
then it was time for Easter baskets...Cohen has already had some practice opening Easter gifts from the package grandma and grandpa Troge sent (he love tissue paper!!) I have a video of it but for some reason it won't post right now...will try again later on.
yay tissue paper!
what's in the tissue paper?
a little chick
with hair just like Cohen!
and this little hat was in his basket from grandma and grandpa Russell
and another empty egg...SO exciting!!
we went over to Jim and Tammy's for Easter dinner...and played some H O R S E first
we had quite the crowd
Cohen watched and yelled for everyone
including auntie Kate in her sensible basketball shoes
soon little one you will be out there too!
then Cohen went down for a nap and it was whiffle ball time...Jim and Tammy live on a greenbelt so they have a great spot to play
oh hi Sam...we see you
Landon getting some pitching in
Landon has been too nervous to hold Cohen until now...I guess that extra padding makes Cohen look not so fragile. :)
Cohen and Tammy...and plastic cup which is the best toy you can possibly get!!
